Lemurian Supercarrier by PeterPrime Lemurian Supercarrier by PeterPrime
The pride of the Lemurian navy, the unbelievably huge supercarrier.

These ships serve the core of the largest scale invasions. So rare, each of them have their own name and unique ID.

The supercarrier, with its massive haul, is able to even dock capital ships.

Often escorted by the dreaded command ships, which also shows their invaluable asset.

Equipped with 5 heavy artillery cannons, a heavy missile battery and hundreds of heavy point-defense laser cannons.

This ship is colossal, it's lenght is over 20km.

Guarded by thousands of fighters, corvettes, dozens of frigates and several capital ships, all of which are docked in the carrier.

It is from my story.

Peter, I've been following your work for quite some time now and I can safely say, beyond any doubt, that I am an enormous fan. Let me say, first and foremost, that it completely sucks to see this incredible pic sullied by the stupidity of a handful of others, and with that out of the way I can now get to the important part.

I'm no scientist, nor am I an engineer of any sorts, and by absolutely no means am I an expert in any way, shape, or form on military technology or the like. What I am is someone who is drawn to clear exhibitions of skill, talent, and passion. You show all of these here. It's clear to me that this is the kind of work you absolutely love to do and I, for one, hope you never stop. Your skills have grown incredibly and this piece is one of many recent pieces that I feel are defining of your ever growing talents.

Honestly, I have almost nothing bad to say, and the only thing I was going to criticize was the fact that you didn't include a full background which is really nothing more than me nit-picking. The colors, the textures, and the lighting are all fantastic. I love that you chose to surround this behemoth with dozens of smaller craft to help give a sense of just how incredibly massive this thing is. Smaller craft that go completely unnoticed until you take a closer look, I might add. And looking at those cannons along the bottom, good lord I don't even want to think the kind of punch weapons that gargantuan would pack.

Awestricken. That sums up my reaction in a single word.

Thank you very much!

It was a pleasure reading through your comment, really.

Hmmm perhaps you're right about the background. I'll change it in the future. ;)

no offence but best way of blowing it up is from inside like what they did in halo reach unless u check the ship before docking

Now that's a MEAN lookin ship. :) Run, all you puny star destroyers!

Message to everybody: Yeah. So it's a bit big, and has some technical issues which I consider very MINOR when compared against most of sci-fi, e.g. "photon trpedoes" and crap like that. A: Still only 2.2 kM longer than the Executor in Star Wars. B: ALL that I would say is.... maybe up the weaponry to 2 magnetic accelerated shock guns, 20 artillery, a few hundred missle ports, and then between 2 and 6k laser turrets [just a helpful hint there, adjusting for the killer size of the beast :) not meaning to correct or beat you down or anything, PeterPrime. Just saying with all that room, more would get put in.]

Aside from that, guys, perfectly freaking fine. Pete here is still displaying far more artistic and technical capability than, like, at least 85% of the planet. [And yes, considering how much "art" is just crap these days, that's an undisputable point.] Job well done here. Everyone shut up and go find a LEGITIMATE arguing point somewhere.... And Vector, did you get your brain at a garage sale?... Cuz that 20km thing was golden. Kindly go fkurselvz with a cactus. :)

And thank you, ManiocTH, for advocating sanity. Extra thanks, too, for that kM/mi conversion thing. I've been too lazy to google it, though I've needed it so badly. :P

So, yeah. Everybody, go to hell. Manioc, you're wonderful. And PeterPrime, just ignore the worthless losers and keep doing your thing. I can't wait to see what you kick out next. ZOMGOFUAGAGIGANORMICSHIPSFOREVERYONE!!!!1 :D

Wow what a moral dilema about a ship! First of all I'd like to say that your ship is awesome PeterPrime and I don't think nobody here has the right to call your writing bad. We all create our own worlds and our own rules and when it comes to Sci-Fi you can't apply traditional rules that YOU think are guidelines to any other persons work. So his ship is huge, so what? It's his world and he creates the rules even if most of you people don't like it. What? If I want to make a ship or a space station that's bigger than Jupiter I can't because it is unreal? Please! The consept of a cowardly emotional droid would seem dumb to lots of Sci-Fi puritans but go ask George Lucas if he gives a crap about what you people think while he baths in millions! Wanting to help someone make his stories more realistic is one thing but slapping your story or your thoughts on someone elses face just to make him feel like crap is just plain rude! Keep up the good work PeterPrime and feel free to make your universe as YOU want it to be. As long as you are happy with the world you create forget those others who can only feel good about their work by bad mouthing others.

I just threw this together and messaged it to a buddy of mine. It depicts a scene from the main ship in my sci fi series, the 'Slower Than Infinity, Squared' or 'Stu', as everyone calls it, upon encountering said super carrier...
By way of comparison, the 'Stu' or Galhadian 'Infinity' class heavy battle cruiser is only 8 miles long, a monstrosity when Alex and friends first found it in 2356ad. Armed with 24 dorsal and ventral turrets each equipped with a triple mount of hypersonic rail-guns, she was a potent weapon of war...

Jett(Anthro Skunk on sensors): Captain! What the hell is this thing that just droppped out of hyperspace? It's bigger then us!
Alex(Human male): Give me a detailed scan. Badass, get your girls to their planes, but launch on my command.
Austin(Human male): Aye!
Alex: Red Alert! Raise shields, Jenna, activate your point defense grid. Anderson! Tell me you're done tinkering with the main gun?
Anderson(Human male): Since yesterday, actually. ::smiles::
Jett: Scan complete ::laughter:: I haven't seen crap like this since Cammie and Co wasted those Sytes out in Florinth. It has an armor belt, and nav-deflectors, well, I think they're deflectors. THEY might call them shields. Armament consists of missile batteries, lasers and a smaller laser-based point defense system.
::Everyone throws odd looks at each other::
Alex: Badass, launch your birds, but stay clear of forward arrays. Talia, engage that thing, dorsal array only! Full power, maximum yield! Clear this rubbish from my sky!
Talia(Anthro Tigress in Ops pit): With pleasure!
10 minutes later....
Badass: Ok, we were able to grab a bunch of their lifepods. Some race calling themselves the Lumerians. They seem a bit shell-shocked that their fleet's pride was so easily swept aside. Some of my girls are still laughing at their thorough lack of technology. We'll be back onboard in 10. Badass out!

you do not know what i have and have not read. but let me tell you, you are definitely going about this the entirely wrong way.

while those are great series, that doesnt imply or even suggest that YOU know what your doing to write a story. Ever heard of fan fiction? yeah those are all "inspired" by existing works. 95% of fan fiction is utter garbage because there is no Publisher filtering out the mary sues, terrible plotlines and cliche story tropes. ive just read what is essentally a single scene from your "style" of works.. and its BAD. not to mention you added furries into a sifi story... i mean... really....thats unforgivable.

Actually, I'm trying to help you step up your writing game. Your ship, while artistically awesome, doesn't fit the low tech universe you're putting it in.
Take it for what the critique is worth. Awesome ship, too low budget universe.

A: HELP is constituted by friendly, step-by-step advice, not writing up some bullshit about "Oh, mine is so much better. Oh yeah, look how we just destroyed yours." Get your facts straight.

B: A critique is a point-by-point analysis carried out in an objective, PROFESSIONAL fashion, NOT SOME SHITTY-ASS "Oh, look how that sucks!" "sci-fi segment."

C: So what kind of lame-ass universe do your "anthro-skunks" inhabit? I'm amazed at your oh-so superior wisdom.... Your writing is utterly horrid, by the way. Consider looking for a new hobby where you'll actually be worth something.

D: What. The. Hell?... YOUR ship is 8 goddamn miles long, and its armament is just 24 turrets? Is that a joke?... Take a look at my above comment. Seriously. THOUSANDS of turrets would be put on something that size, dumbass! And oo, look at its amazing railguns! Laser weaponry is not inherently LESS powerful. It actually, is far better, tactically, because you can pack 5 times as much energy weaponry into the space required for balistics [Yes, I've been going VERY deep into the mechanical and physics aspects of both sci-fi and real-world weaponry for years.] And also, if he has some nicely powered reactors on his ship, along with a few hundred tons of fuel rods to power them, he basically has all the power he needs to operate his ship for DECADES [considering how uranium's half-life is (if I remember correctly) is roughly 40k years, and you can power New York city for several weeks with a sliver of it the size of your finger.] On the other hand, a ballistics-based vessel such as yours, could only operate its weapons for the space of a few months in a full-scale war, unless it functions as just a big cargo ship with turrets. Then still, maybe 3 years at most. Also, if you want a gun that can break a capital ship's shield and THEN go through the armor as well, you'd need to step your shit up to a relativistic shock cannon: basically, accelerates a 3-meter long tungsten rod to 10-20% the speed of light [and of course, in order to do that, the gun runs along at least a THIRD of the length of the ship (Nowhere near so small and simple as you think, dumbass.)

Oh, also, in response to the US Navy comment: They're develpoing lasers at the SAME DAMN TIME as your precious railguns. Pride of the effort, the free-electron laser laser cannon, was tested last February, and its supercharged electron beam managed to burn through 20 feet of super-high-grade steel per second. Give it a few hundred years [depending on when PeterPrime's story is] and its power would go up probably a hundred times or more.

And then how long do you really think it would take to tear the pride of your navy to shreds? Also, how the hell is yours only 150,000 metric tonnes when it's 8 miles long? What is it made of, paper???? No. Even paper isn't light enough for that! Pull out a science book, and READ IT! LEARN SOMETHING!

All-around, his ship is INFINITELY more practical, ALL of your science and logistics are bullshit, and then you go and try to say HIS ideas are inferior?... And to top it off.... anthro-skunks?... You truly are quite a piece of work there. Leave the LEGITIMATE artist alone, and go crawl back in your hole. Cheers. :)

lol.... switch to decaf... learn to write... Actually read what it is that I write, instead of basing your opine on a short snippet I wrote in 5 minutes to make a point, an lastly, science in sci fi is merely a background for whatever the artist wishes. Fact checking sci fi...wow, and I thought Vectorzero was walking around with a few loose screws...

lol @ Vector. Even still, it's a cool design, and obviously designed and built by Orwellian humans... ::snicker:: Missile batteries and 'lasers' ::snicker:: Would hate to see it come under fire from a single Impr. Infinite Salvation class BCG. It's only 150,000 gross metric tonnes, yet packs 12 dual barbettes of advanced Galhadian/Vor'Gosh Null Space guns, whose single round skips shields AND armor belts...
Step up your sci fi sir... Lasers? No one uses lasers anymore... Hell, even the US Navy has moved onto Rail guns now (2010+)

20km... thats equal to the Diameter of the earth (ish). this isnt quite accurate, but close: [link] id like you to know at this size, that physics would be screaming bloody murder at you. you could fit a united states and a half in there, and firing weapons from the back would take hours to get to the front, if you turned the ship, you could take your own rounds to the bow. not to mention heat would warp your ship and crack it all over the place. the amount of energy required to make this thing move, is enough to throw the earth out of orbit.

Sir...

Do you even know how long a kilometer is? Cause I mean... you're from the United States, and most people here don't have a damn clue about how long a km is.

1 mile = 1.609 344 kilometer
1 kilometer = 0.621 371 192 mile

So that means that 20 kilometers = 12.427 423 845 miles
